Android has made superb progress since 2005 when Google purchased a relatively unknown company called Android Inc. During half a decade Google opened up the platform and let anyone download, change, personalize, use and distribute it free of charge. Freedom may be the keyword that sets apart Android from all other smartphones offered. Apple has a tyrannical like clutch on its ios and Blackberry is not very different. By comparison you are free to install any software you want with an Android phone -the app marketplace is not limited to what someone in a review department deems to be acceptable. With this particular level of versatility, software developers are abandoning Apple and embracing the freedom which developing for Android brings. Nowadays there are tens of thousands of programs available - a lot of them are actually handy! As an example the standard messaging application is nothing to scream about on the Android however it doesn't have to be as there are more than a dozen free applications that you can download that will replace the built in messaging app for you. This level of customization and choice will not be available on other smartphones where the makers want to tie you down to only their applications. Since it is easier for designers to produce applications and because there is more competition you will find that many applications that you have to buy on the iPhone and Blackberry that are free on the Android - or at least you will encounter a free 'lite' version offered so you are saving on the price of modifying your mobile phone. In case you are anything like the common Web surfer you almost certainly use several Google web services such as Gmail, Gtalk, Drive and Search. While you can use these services on other mobile phones, the Android has built applications that incorporate and sync effortlessly with your smartphone. For example, say you add a new contact into your address book, Android is intelligent enough to sync your Google contacts list for those times you ever misplace your android then all of your important contact information is stored in Google’s cloud services. Protection is clearly a large variable and with smartphone usage increasing, criminals and unlawful gangs are actively attempting to get access to the private information people store on their phones.. Though you could get some great defense apps for Android you can be sure that Google has always got your back with its remote kill switch ability to remove any harmful applications that may have found their way onto your phone. Finally there is the essential aspect of variety. With an iPhone you are tied to one unit, not great if you would like to express oneself. The Blackberry targets business people and the designs are not even close impressing. In contrast because the Android Mobile Phone is a open source operating system which you can use without royalties, many major cell phone manufacturers are coming up with Android based smartphones. You now have a choice of brand, choice of dimensions, choice of features and most of all find a android which fits the budget. For more Android tablet information click on the link here.
