Keeping a clean home can be difficult as a business woman. If you have small children and you are an entrepreneur, keeping a clean home can be ten times more difficult. I have found that it is much easier to maintain my home when I multitask throughout the day. This includes incorporating a little bit of cleaning into my morning and my evening routine so that I am not overloaded with all of the chores at once. If you are like me, the last thing you want to do after dealing with your clients all day is clean the entire house. You do not have to be a neat freak just to have a clean home that is "show ready" and organized. Here are some valuable tips to working mothers who are trying to keep a clean home with limited time: Cleaning While You Cook We all know how important it is to serve your children a nutritious dinner. While you are cooking your little ones pasta and chicken, consider cleaning as you go. Straighten the kitchen up while the pasta is boiling. Sweep the floors while you cook the vegetables. Clean off the table and the counter tops while the meal cools off. If you clean as you go, the kitchen does not have to be a disaster to be dealt with in the morning. Multitasking the Chores If you have ever working in the restaurant industry then you have heard of the saying "always have your hands full". If you are taking food to a table, you take their cups back to the beverage station for refills. Use this mentality in your house. If you are going to check the mail, why not take out the trash on your way to the driveway. This limits the amount of trips you have to take and will give you more time to spend with your little ones. Turn Bath Time Into Cleaning Time You do not have to do it every time but I like to clean the bathroom twice a week when I am giving my little ones a bath. I can spend time in the bathroom with them while they play and clean the vanity, the mirrors, the floor, and even the toilet. Assigning Chores to the Children If you have an infant, you obviously cannot expect them to contribute to cleaning. If you have a three year old, it is a great time to teach them how to clean. You do not have to give them huge responsibilities. Consider buying them their own broom set or mop and watch them have fun. As they get older, you can delegate more responsibility to take a little off of your plate. You do not have to have the house spic and span for it to be clean. As long as everything is neat and tidy, you have done a great job or keeping a clean home with children. If you consider these tips, you might have your friends asking how you keep such a clean house and still run a business. These great tips were brought to you by Jacqui Vincent.
