Things might well be going along swimmingly at the moment but do you have a back up plan should things go wrong. If you don’t have a back up plan you should really get yourself one, as soon as possible. In my opinion, the sign of a successful internet marketer, or any other successful business person for that matter is not necessarily what they have achieved, but how they react when something goes wrong. I love reading autobiographies of successful business people and without exception, they have all faced times in their career when it looked like they were going to lose everything. Times when it seemed that nothing was going their way, but through courage, determination and a back up plan they have been able to pull through and grow even stronger. It is therefore vitally important that you have a back up plan in your business and if you are not sure what I am talking about, let’s look at an example. You may have an empire of bogs which you have monetized with Google Adsense. Everything is going fine and you have just broke the $100 per day barrier and life is looking good. You are planning to break through $200 per day by Christmas and you are making plans to go on that dream holiday and you are looking at the brochures for that 4 x 4 that you have had your eye on for some time. You try and log onto your Google account and your mouth dries up instantly as you realize that you are unable to log in, your account has been suspended. Google won’t listen to reason and to make matters worse, they are not paying you the money that you have earned over the last month. If you don’t have a back up plan for this scenario, it really would be a case of a disaster which many people would find hard to bounce back from. A back up plan for this example would be to only build blogs on a subject where there are multiple revenue streams that you could promote. For example, a blog about hair dryers, the Adsense add could be removed and instantly replaced with Amazon and products from their affiliate program. If all of your blogs have various options of products to promote, anything such as the Google example above would only be seen as a blip and not the end of the world. It may take you a little time to change everything over, depending on the number of blogs that you have but it is far better than having absolutely no where to turn. I can remember something similar happening a few years ago. People were using a tool called Traffic Equalizer to build thousands of crappy looking websites which advertised Adsense with some of these people earning six figures a month. Almost over night, Google de-ranked all of these websites and these people went from 6 figures a month to less than $100 per month. Lots of theses people didn’t have a back up plan and that was basically it. End of! It doesn’t matter what your online business comprises off and how successful it is, always, and I mean always, have a back up plan in place and you will find that you will be guarded against any eventuality.
