Learning is a key function in life. At sometime in our lives we have to acquire the skills to become a part of our society. For example, learning hand-eye coordination, understanding cause and effect, participating in society, and dealing with internal as well as external conflicts are skills necessary for positive adaptation. What is often misunderstood, is that many of these vital skills are acquired through childhood play. Although we play throughout our lifetime, in early childhood we play more for the fun of playing. Most children from 2 to 6 years of age do not care about who wins, the final score, or even the rules for the game. As a parent or care giver, understanding the simplicity of early childhood and the joy factors are necessary for the health and well being of your child. In this section, I will discuss some key areas of play and address how each enhances child development. I will give examples and descriptions of fun "age appropriate" games and activities. I have also included some fun recipes and food ideas for you and your child. Finally, I will point out some of the play-related challenges faced by a child due to their race or gender, their ascribed status, and some ways to help overcome these obstacles. Playing is a vital part of child development and one of the most important things a child does is play. When they play, children learn to solve problems, get along with other people and control their bodies as they enrich their creativity and develop leadership skills. When children play with a broad variety of toys, the experiences help them to develop to their fullest potential. It is so delightful to watch a child playing with colorful toys. Parents and grandparents usually buy toys for children to show their love and affection. But are they buying safe and suitable toys? Most of the toys are very safe but some toys contain hidden hazards. Parents and other adults buying toys for children should remain alert about those hidden hazards posed by toys on store shelves. Children might get hurt by playing with unsafe or unfit toys. Children typically get hurt playing toys because of the following reasons: * Some toys are dangerous. For example, a toy gun that shoots something out can cause serious injury to someone. * Some toys are not well made and parts can break off easily. * Some toys have small parts that come off and may be swallowed by a young child. * Some have sharp edges. * Some may be fine for older children but dangerous for younger children. For children to get the most out of toys they must be safe and the right toys for the child’s age and ability. Some toys such as bicycles and skateboards are not easy to manage and children need some help before they can use them safely. Other toys may not be safe because they are for older children, or because they are not well made. The advantages of cheer inflatable bouncer.
