The Tata's are having very reputed name amongst the automobile market and now they are geared up for launch of a Tata Merlin. It is believed that the car will be a full grown SUV in the D segment manufactured at Tata's facility near Pune. It is based on the platform of Tata's Aria which is based on Tata's safari platform. This would be second Tata vehicle to be based on the 4X2 platform apart from the Tata Aria Crossover. The car is powered by a 2.2 litre DOHC DiCOR engine which generates the maximum power of 140bhp at 4000rpm along with the maximum torque of 320Nm at 1700rpm. The upcoming Tata New Safari Merlin Car is expected to have 2179cc DiCOR diesel engine same as equipped in the Tata Safari. This engine is designed to produce more power and output. It is said that the engine is will be having dual mass fly wheel to ensure minimum noise and vibration. The best thing about diesel engine is that it always gives a better acceleration for long distances and Tata Merlin is not different. Also the engine is likely to be mated with low friction bearings and five speed manual gearbox for smooth driving. Car looks very masculine; the heavily worked front-end view is clearly reminiscent of the current generation model. Elevated fog lights lurking on the bumpers are surely the add-on feature. The 5 spoke alloy wheels dress the base of Tata Merlin. If we talk about its interiors then they are expected to be as good as of Tata's Aria's, Tata Merlin SUV is essentially a 7 seater. Everything inside the car is at the top level. The car will be having all new electronic switches , two trip meter and white back-light dial while the driver's seat will also have an arm rest. This all made, keeping in mind comfort of a driver as well as passengers.
