What is Jing? Jing is a program built by TechSmith, they have also provided programs to us like: Snagit, Morae, Screencast and Camtasia Studio. Tech Smith was founded in 1987 and has become the world's #1 provider of screen capture and screen recording software. Initially they only developed custom software for Windows, but spread their wings to help you and me. Snagit was their first program release and quickly became a word of mouth phenomenon, currently there are over 7 million copies of Snagit sold. In January 2009 TechSmith announced Jing, a revolutionary way of capturing a page of images or videos and able to share them with one sharing link. How Could This Help You? While some us have an online home business and a couple of the things we do can be quite cumbersome for the average user. There is a quick and easy way to help relate the information to another person. For example, I had a few people come to me and say they were having a hard time setting up a Twitter account. While I love helping people, I value my time with my family and friends. So after about two people asking the same question I decided to go to work. While my idea of work is actually quite fun, other's find it very beneficial. So I decided to make a video tutorial on "How to set up a Twitter account." Now while it only took me a total of 17 minutes to made two different videos, I have saved myself many hours. With Jing you can only make 5 minute videos or less, so my first video was a "crash course" and my second as more in depth. As we all know if you watch someone do something and listen to the directions at the same time, your retention of the content is enhanced 50%. So if you do use Jing in your home business, this could help make training videos for the people you are sponsoring. Is that All You Can Do? While the possibilities are pretty high with Jing, there is more than just a screenshot, sending videos, and motions. You can also complete online conversations that can be used with images, motion, color, and sound instead of just typing. With a captured image you can put in arrows, callouts, text and highlights to emphasize the thought or content. You can also add to a blog, your clipboard, Flicker, and videos can be uploaded to YouTube once you upgrade to Pro. Now come on, I know what you are thinking "my lord another cost to my business?" but at 4 cents a day how can you not? That's right. How many upgrades do you know that are only $14.95 a year? Not many. Any videos you make like the ones I have are done in HD and in the MP4 format which is easily used. You can then take those videos and build a training website, upload to YouTube and promote "you" as a great mentor and coach. This is how you can brand yourself. So Robert, What Are You Telling Me? It is saving you time because you can just direct someone to your site and/or send them the link. Or you can keep answering the same question over and over again. Along with Twitter we all know you can only use 140 characters, so I did a tutorial on how to use bit.ly. The free program bit.ly is a URL reducer, try explaining this to someone without pictures or a video. Now here comes the money part, we are currently in an environment of providing free things to attract leads, clients and customers. Even big box retailers are doing things like "receive a free DVD player with TV purchase." In the online home business world this is called attraction marketing. If you are learning a business do you want to learn from someone that knows what they are doing? Do you want to learn from someone that uses the programs and has the ability to teach others? Of course you do, and so does everyone else. So get Jing for your home business and provide some free content and watch being attracted to you.
