For many of us a new device is one of excitement and to an extent a case of out with the old and in with the new. So, for the Christmas of 2011, which are the best phones on offer and what should you look out for. Well, there are a number of things, balancing a good phone that has an intuitive operating system, with one that has enough power is the most important thing and finding the perfect balance is something that makes a phone that looks good on paper, actually a good phone - here are some of the best. Apple iPhone 4S There can be few who would say that the Apple will not be on the top of a lot of lists this year. The phone has gotten a lot of press in the recent months and really offers users a wide range of new and updated options/ The coming of the new A5 processor from the iPad 2 alongside the fact the device comes with a new operating system makes it stand out well and above many of the other phones on the market. Getting a city deal on a new phone or even accessories for an iPhone4S is quite common. Speakers, pouches and an array of other items are often seen on the likes of Groupon, Deal Rush or many of the other dealpage sites on the Internet. These can add an extra bit of spark to your device, allow you better quality sound or just are good for pimping your iPhone and give it more of a sense of personality. The Apple iPhone 4S offers a wide range of these options, as well as the new Siri voice control technology and the iCloud streaming, which allows users to listen to their full iTunes anywhere on the device, once they are within network. All of these factors push Apple to the fore here and make it a very envied device this Christmas Samsung Galaxy SII The SII is Samsung's iPhone rival and for much of the last year had the upper hand on the iPhone4. This was mainly because the company had created a well rounded device, which managed to do everything well and without much or any compromise. It has a powerful 1.2GHz dual core chip, as well as Android 2.3, an 8MP camera and most notably the excellent Super AMOLED Plus screen. This display manages to combine the brightest and clearest screen together to create a phone that is fit for all sorts of multimedia tasks. The Samsung is also notoriously slim and its 8.49mm body is noted for its size and the fact it is slimmer than the iPhone 4 by a notable amount. HTC Sensation XE Though the original Sensation was completely overshadowed by the Samsung Galaxy XE, this device is not. The new Sensation XE is best known for being HTC's Beats phone - a device that is used in conjunction with the famous Dr Dre Headphones. This phone though has a number of other tricks, including a huge 1.5GHz dual core processor - something seen in many small net books, as well as a new livery and Beats Software to create the low frequency Beats sound. The phone is also branded with the beats colours and gets a more remarkable red and black colour scheme which really brightens it up and takes it above the drab original phone. It also comes with Beats in-ear headphones and is a giant leap from the original. Samsung Galaxy Nexus Of course there are a number of other phones out there and the most major one to be released before Christmas looks set to be the Samsung Galaxy Nexus - the first Android 4.0 phone with the companies new software for tablet or phone. This new software will mean face unlocking for the phone as well as a number of other tweaks. Though not released until the middle to end of November it also looks set to be an exciting device - so keep an eye out for it this Christmas.
