Inventing a new product isn't usually the most expensive part of getting that product into consumers' hands. Instead, the most expensive aspect of new product development and marketing is advertising. In fact, there are thousands of new products developed every year that truly could improve the average consumers' daily life but the marketing is cost prohibitive and the product never makes it to the distribution level. However, there is one option of marketing a new product with mass appeal that is considerably more affordable than traditional advertising and it allows inventors to skip the entire retail aspect. The answer is direct response television, DRTV. This type of marketing is easily recognized by the public as an infomercial. The great thing about infomercials is that the airtime is more affordable than regular advertising airtime and an experienced DRTV agency can create a successful campaign to market the product. Drawbacks At first, many companies pass over the idea of using an infomercial to market their product because they have assumed that traditional commercials are "better". However, it doesn't take long to realize that traditional advertising has quite a few drawbacks. Not only does traditional advertising cost much more, but it can actually be confusing for consumers. For example, if the commercial airs for your product and consumers are interested they will think that they need to look for the product the next time they are at the store. However, by the time they actually arrive at the store they may not remember the name of your product and may mistakenly by a competitor's product. Not to mention many consumers will forget about the product entirely. However, if you advertise via a DRTV agency and well designed infomercial then when the consumer realizes they want that product all they have to do is pick up the phone or visit the URL. It's easy, fast, and consumers can get the exact item right when they want it. The other benefit is that money starts coming in immediately, which can help pay the DRTV agency and other marketing bills. Most people will watch an infomercial for a product they are interested in and this is especially the case if the DRTV agency is good at writing an effective and interesting script. Do your homework and check out the benefits of using direct response television to advertise your product and don't overlook the importance of an experienced DRTV agency in the process. DRTV agency A. Eicoff & Co. handles DRTV for leading brands nationwide.
