Author Comment / Biography: Dr. Minhaj Alam is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Governance and Development Studies, Hawassa University, Awassa, Ethiopia, Horn of Africa. Prior to joining Hawassa University, he has served as Academic Associate in Hamdard IAS Study Circle, Hamdard University, New Delhi. He completed his Masters and Doctorate from Department of Political Science, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. His academic and research interest spans subjects such as Political Theory & Liberalism, Democracy, Human Rights, Governance & Development, Minority Rights, Conflict Studies, Nehru Studies. His current research interests mainly revolve around socio-economic and political issues concerning different regions of Ethiopia. He has contributed articles in national referred journals such as “Nehru’s Contribution to Democracy” in Indian Journal of Politics, Department of Political Science, AMU, Aligarh and to several portals such as Incredible India in www.ezinearticle.com and others. He has participated in several National and International Seminars. He has been awarded Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship (Doctoral Studies) from Centre For Nehru Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh; “Academic Excellency Award” from Indian Oil Corporation, Brauni Refinery, Begusarai, Bihar; “Best Organizer Award” from Amity India (Aligarh Chapter).
