Author Comment / Biography: Debbie L. Kasman’s career in public school education in Canada spans nearly 30 years. Early in her career, she worked as an elementary classroom teacher, a teacher of the gifted, a special education resource teacher, and a special education consultant specializing in inclusive education. She later worked as an elementary school Vice-principal, Principal, and Assistant to the Superintendent for Special Education. More recently, Kasman has worked as an Interim Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, where she managed both the Curriculum and Special Education portfolios, and as a Student Achievement Officer with the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat at the Ministry of Education in Ontario. Kasman also teaches online courses for Queen’s University in the Continuing Teacher Education Department. She holds a Master of Education degree from the Theory and Policy Studies Department at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Kasman lives in Pickering, Canada.
