Biographical sketch P.Parimoo
P Parimoo ,also writing under the name Pl.D.Parimoo and Peejip,was born in Srinagar(J&Kashmir state) and completed schooling and graduation from Srinagar before moving to Mumbai for training as a textile engineer. Since the beginning of his career, he mostly remained outside Kashmir but did his best to keep in touch with his roots and also to keep the traditions of Kashmiriyat alive in his home. He worked at senior management positions in the Indian industry. As a part of his profession, he lived in Germany for several years and also travelled extensively across the world. Leaping from Corporate world to one of historiography, he published his first book Kashmiryat at crossroads focused exclusively on the contemporary socio political history of Kashmir. His next book Power,Passion,Perfidy was a presentation to highlight the ancient cultural intercourses between Kashmir and other parts of the Indian sub continent including Afghanistan. The presentation in form of tales from Kalhan’s Rajatarangni does a faithful job of the aim undertaken that is to acquaint the newer generation of Indians to the rich cultural and historical past.
Mr.P.Parimoo contributes to news paper columns and reviews books concerning Kashmir. He wishes to bring forth translations of various outstanding historical Kashmiri books to the masses in the near future.
While his latest book “ KASHMIR and SHER E KASHMIR” is under process of publication, he is putting finishing touches to his lately revised Kashmiriyat at cross roads under the title of FAULT LINES KASHMIR.
