The Rjiksmuseum Amsterdam has no shortage of galleries and museums, and the Rijksmuseum is by far the most popular in the whole country. The famous art museum features works from many Dutch greats including Van Gogh, Vermeer and Rembrandt, plus Delftware, dollhouses and many more of the nation’s most impressive cultural artefacts. The Canal Belt There’s a reason why the Netherlands – and Amsterdam in particular – is known for canals. The city’s four most famous canals were constructed in the seventeenth century and have been featured in photographs of the town ever since. Now a UNESCO Heritage Site, the Canal Belt is a great place to relax at a bar or café and watch people sail by on boats.
