This year, 2018, AIS has reopened its 7,334 square foot showroom located on the 3rd floor of 257 Park Avenue South in Midtown, Manhattan. The 20 story building in which the renovated showroom is housed was built in 1912. The exterior of this historic old building serves as a sharp contrast to the recently modernized AIS office furniture showroom. Reception Area/Welcome Lounge The renovation of the Park Avenue showroom was a dual effort by AIS working with NELSON, a Boston based design firm to create an area designed to instantly capture the attention of guest the minute they walk through the door. The reception/lounge area features a pastel palate of wood grain materials showing AIS's new branding colors. In the reception/lounge area your will find LB lounge seating, nesting tables along with Volker cubes. These are all new products by AIS, which provides comfortable office seating and ergonomically designed to keep you healthy. Special features in the welcome/reception area of the showroom include a natural moss wall behind the reception desk signifying the importance the company places on sustaining the environment. The area also features a beautiful and unique piece of wall art by Rob Surette (speed painter best known for his Hero Art) that was inspired by the New York skyline's reflection in the water. This art work represents the excitement, energy and motion of the city of New York. On another wall of the reception area there is a display of various AIS chairs including Bolton, Triad, and their latest chair Devins office chair. You will notice that hanging from the reception area ceiling are very bright and vibrant colored modern frames showcasing examples of AIS's line of colorful mesh for various seating. The frames create an interesting 3D sculpture in the middle of the room. Showroom Area What is amazing is that the combination reception and lounge areas flow seamlessly into the showroom area. The showroom itself not only offers a variety of open-office displays, semi private workspaces, a private office and a conference area. The showroom is bright and open showcasing the range of AIS office products encompassing a variety of different work environments. The area showcases office spaces, educational settings and even health care space allowing people from different types of work to see the potential of AIS furniture to meet a variety of needs (Glass Office Cubicles). Displayed among the adjustable work desks and tables are samples of different AIS lines including Aloft, Divi, Matrix and more. Special features of the showroom include technologial features such as lounge area popup power with USB plugs, as well as power-through accessories and clamp on power. The Workspace Contained within the showroom area are actual workspaces for the showroom manager, and the 3 area sales representatives. In addition, the showroom serves as a host for representatives of AIS as well as dealers from the across the state of New York, New Jersey & Connecticut.
