Lately, all around the internet you see the words "cloud computing" and "cloud software". If you are in the marketing industry then you probably know about cloud marketing software. If you are asking "what is cloud marketing software?" it is completely web based applications used for marketing. If you are worried about security or cost, Google is one of the leading cloud based applications companies, their software is web based and information is stored by them on secure servers that are well maintained, not to mention everything is free. You might not have known that cloud software is cheaper and more secure than operating system based applications. Since cloud marketing software is stored on a company's server you do not need to purchase your own server. It is cheaper for a large company to maintain because less outsourcing and more in-house management can drive the cost of a server down dramatically. Also, the cost of the server and maintenance is split between the clients lightening the burden per user. Even though you can access your web based software from any web browser that does not mean that everyone else can. Security on a corporate server is usually better than your home or office computer/server. Many companies house their servers behind hardware based firewalls and keep them updated with the latest security patches to combat threats. Even if someone could get into the server they would have a hard time finding your data specifically. Cloud marketing software is cheaper and more secure than traditional applications. It does not involve any installation, you do not need to setup a database and everything is stored on the cloud so you do not have to worry about backing up anything. If your computer crashes or dies completely everything is accessible right away from any other computer. An example of cloud marketing software is call tracking which tracks incoming calls for reporting and recording purposes. Call tracking systems are expensive to house and maintain because they need to be stored in a special area with a large amount of phone connections. Voice broadcasting is also a good example because information is stored on the server and calls are sent out to a massive amount of recipients and just like call tracking the system needs special connections.
