Kids look forward to summer all year long. They can’t wait for the freedom of being out of school, being able to play all day long, and having no homework. By going to a summer camp, the kids can feel like they are a part of something bigger than themselves and they can feel like they are different than others because of their experiences. Kids need these experiences to make them feel different and special and with the opportunity to go to a summer camp and learn more about a favorite subject, they can feel like they belong. Mature Socially One of the best things about a summer camp is the opportunity to mature socially. A lot of these children have grown up with the same children in their classes for many years, so they don’t have a lot of opportunity to meet and make new friends. With a summer camp, they hopefully won’t know anyone, opening up the chance to meet and make completely new friends, and develop more social skills. Social skills are one of the most important things to learn when growing up, so the opportunity to practice them with new people can really impact their life skills while growing up. Connect with the World Lastly, one of the best things that children can learn when going to a science summer camp is their connection to the world. While working and learning at a summer camp, they can discover what it really means to be a part of the world as a whole, especially if they are learning about any number of science subjects. And, not only can they meet people from all over the world, but they can learn about people and things from all over the world.
