If you have just bought some land and you want to do some development on it; you need to do some little homework so you can know whether there are any restrictions or legal implications related to mature tree removal. In most areas you will be required to acquire a permit from the local authorities if you plan to remove a significant tree from your property. There are local government councils that have restrictions regarding what species of trees that cannot be removed or damaged even though they are in your property. You may want to ask your nearest tree removal expert whether they know about any such laws regarding trees that are protected for one reason or another. Don’t assume that your property is perhaps outside the areas where trees are officially protected; make sure that you apply for permission to do tree removal so as to avoid paying hefty fines that are imposed to protect particular trees. Always do your research first before you even contact a tree cutting service provider. Most of them will be more than willing to do the research for you and in cases where a license is actually required, they can assist by speeding up the process of application; this can normally take several days if not weeks and it could easily derail any development plans you could be having. The good news is that tree removal contractors regularly deal with these issues and they should be able to show exactly what you must do. Don’t be like those homeowners who believe that after you have cut down a tree that becomes the end of the story. It is always important to remember that there is a complex ecosystem in your backyard where different plants depend on one another and the simple act of removing a single tree will create a lot of changes. This is why arborists will normally advise after weighing the pros and cons of removing a particular tree and what consequences are likely to follow. You want to know whether that tree has been a sanctuary for some wildlife species or it has been providing a much needed shadow for other plants. Some of the important reasons for tree removal will include when the presence of that particular tree becomes a hazard or it could be blocking what could otherwise be a great view. But even when that needs to be done, proper assessment must be done so that the removal of the root network does not adversely affect irrigation and plumbing systems in addition to the foundations of nearby homes. This informs the reason you should always involve a professional tree removal expert who will look at the positioning of the tree and advise accordingly; you don’t want to do a successful tree removal exercise only to be left with an ugly stump that cannot be removed.
