(Xinhua/Li Mingfang) BEIJING, Sept.30 (Xinhua) -- Billionaire investor Warren Buffett said small scale philanthropy was "more admirable" than large scale philanthropy when talking with Chinese media here Thursday. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates were interviewed by a small group of Chinese journalists before a press conference held Thursday morning, after the two chaired a close-door charity banquet with the Chinese wealthy Wednesday night. "I particularly admire people who are engaged in small scale philanthropy," Buffett said reflecting on his knowledge of philanthropy in the U.S. "Their attitude makes for a better community when a very high percentage of the community is participating in the local boy scouts, the local hospital, the local soupery, and the spirit of the agendas is huge and over time is shaping how the community behaves." he added. "The two are very complementary, and it is great to develop them in parallel," Gates also said when talking about small and large scale philanthropy.
