EDMONTON - Police are asking for the public s help in locating aLloydminster, Sask. man who is considered armed and dangerous. James Daniel Munro, 33, was the subject of a police standoff Sundayafternoon at his house in the north downtown area of Lloydminster.He appears to have fled before authorities could form a perimeteraround the building. Lloydminster RCMP arrived at 11:30 a.m. following a complaint of adomestic dispute lodged by someone inside. After an initialconfrontation, Munro was believed to have barricaded himself insidewith a firearm. The emergency response team from Edmonton was thencalled in. When the members felt they were dealing with an unco-operativesubject, they immediately proceeded with extreme caution andcontacted the support services to resolve this in a peacefulway, said RCMP spokesman Staff Sgt. Shawn Lemay. Neighbours were also evacuated. But when police entered the house later that afternoon, Munro wasno longer there. Lloydminster being a border town, he could be in Saskatchewan butwe re certainly looking everywhere, said Lemay. Prior to movingto Lloydminster, Munro had lived in Barrhead. He has family inEdmonton. Munro is wanted for charges of intimidation, uttering threats,forcible confinement, assault and overcoming resistance as well asbreach of probation relating to another matter. He is alsounlawfully at large outside of Edmonton after failing to show up ona weekend as part of an intermittent sentence. Munro is Caucasian, five-foot-10 and weighs 166 pounds. He hasbrown hair and blue eyes and sports a tattoo of a Roman numeral onhis left middle finger and the tattoo BJ on top of his rightthumb. Anyone who spots Munro is urged not to approach him, but to call911 or Crime Stoppers.
