Bet you would never guess that insurance agent ads are rising to the top of the charts as the most interesting and entertaining commercials on TV. Allstate has upped the ante with their Mayhem campaign. The star of each commercial, Dean Winters, personifies mayhem in multiple forms. One of the most memorable ads includes Mayhem as a teenage girl who has become emotionally compromised. After learning that her best friend, Becky, has kissed her crush, the teenage girl (Winters) crashes into a parked car, showing the dangers of young drivers and texting while driving. On YouTube alone, this commercial has seen nearly 160,000 views. Other commercials show Mayhem (Winters) as ornery toddler, throwing a temper tantrum in the backseat; a texting walker; an unattended tailgate grill; a large tree branch that falls on your car; etc. Each commercial ends with the memorable phrase, "Be better protected from Mayhem, like me." Not only are the commercials funny, they are effective! State Farm runs its campaigns on catchy jingles. Everyone knows "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there!" In each of these commercials, a person caught in a pickle need only say the jingle and a State Farm insurance agent appears. Some of the ads promote that an agent can help in sticky car situations, like a fender bender in the middle of nowhere or a buffalo, while others highlight that State Farm can save you money. In their other commercials, State Farm relies on humor. The most well known ad shifts from the topic of insurance, when a teen boy in a living room makes use of the State Farm jingle. He says the normal jingle, but adds, "Can I get a hot tub?" A hot tub magically appears in the living room along with the insurance agent. Geico has run their commercial ads using the sheer force of adorable animals. Most well known is the Geico Gecko. With his endearing accent, the Geico Gecko seems like he wants to be your insurance agent and your friend. Geico has run through a gamut of campaigns, from The Caveman to the group of folk singers, all of which have been extremely well received. Their latest ad has incorporated a pig that goes "wee wee wee" all the way home. So, while watching TV, you may be laughing at these commercials without giving them a second thought. This is a sign of successful advertising. Each of these insurance companies gets your attention while also getting in your head. Now, when you go to buy insurance, who will you choose? Look beyond flashy advertising and choose an experienced insurance agent. Somerville, NJ area residents rely on LaFontaine & Budd, Inc. See the difference here: hhttp://www.lafontaineandbudd.com.
