Almost more than a decade ago, Ernst Leitz established an optical company that manufactured a series of binoculars for the first time. These were known as Binocle 6x18. Since then the company has kept introducing new products for its users. At a later stage this same company came to be known as Leica Camera AG. Rangefinders are devices that help you in measuring the exact range from the target. In fact it is one of the companies that were first in introducing these devices. It also introduced a range of spotting scopes with ridge prism mechanism and an angled eyepiece. Till date Leica binoculars are well known for their magnification and integral rangefinder. It was Ernst Leitz II, the son of the founder, who started the production of Leica cameras in 1925. He himself was a hunter and was interested in nature viewing as well. It was this enthusiasm that made him aware of the requirements that are essential in the binoculars. Along with his friends Leitz developed several ideas for their products. There constant developments led to the introduction of Leica binoculars. These products are known for their optical performances. Their product, Leica Ultravid 10x25 and 8x32 BR models came to be clear winners when these were tested by "Stiftung Warentest." This was a German consumer organization that rated these products as excellent. Leica has over the years produced various kinds of models. Technology has always been their strength and they also use laser technology for manufacturing the binos. Tradition is associated with this brand for a long time. There are two models which are particularly popular with the users. The Ultravid and Leica Geovid binocular models are the two main ranges. While this brand is quite popular for binos but it is also associated with the production of cameras. Besides offering good quality optics, the Leica binoculars are light in weight and portable. We always need devices that are easy to carry around while involved in outdoor sports. In this regard the Leica binoculars are perfect. What these products offer is sheer visual pleasure that is durable as well.
