Before you actually call a plumber for bathroom drain cleaning, you should first give it a shot yourself. If the clog is not too stubborn, you may be paying the plumber for nothing. So, first analyze the situation yourself, and if it is simple, try rectifying it yourself instead of paying the plumber for the little work. If the block is really bad then drain cleaning could be really irritating, and something you wouldn’t want to get involved in, however if the block is not to severe, the job could be as easy as a walk in the park. You can analyze the intensity of the task in front of you, and the ways to get over them through the various ways available for efficient drain cleaning. If you are looking for conventional methods to choose from, you will not too many of them because they are actually made by common individuals who experimented with something and that thing came off. So, there may be a lot of these methods that can work really well in certain draining issues, but mind the fact that as they are not expertly tested, their result is not always positive. The major issue with most of bathroom drains is the matter that stacks up in the drain pipe. It could be anything from hair to bathroom products to any other stuff that goes in there unnoticed. So, when you encounter a drain block, the first thing to do would be to clean the drain pipe. In most cases, the problem is solved just by checking the pipe and properly cleaning it. To do this, you can use a bent wire and attach it to a thin stick or similar material, and get it inside the pipe. If the clog is solid, the bent wire would be able to cling on to it and get it down or up to be removed. It can also break into the clog, which then can be removed by using a gush of water down the pipe. A method which wouldn’t be a part of any book is the use of a mixture of vinegar and baking soda to remove the drain block. This combination is supposed to create an action that can help remove the block by flushing boiling water through the pipe. However, for best results, the mixture should be left in the drain pipe for at least an hour, after which hot water should be used to remove the clog. Another approach to drain cleaning that is more unconventional is to use a combination of baking soda and vinegar to help flush out your pipes. This mixture will cause a fizzing action that can help break up a blockage, and should be left to sit for at least an hour before flushing it out with hot water. Of course, for relatively minor clogs, boiling water is an effective means of drain cleaning itself. Because of its extremely high temperature, it can immediately break down the material in some clogs and help release them on contact. Finally, if none of these tools or mixtures is effective means of drain cleaning, it is worth attempting to use a wet and dry vacuum to attempt to suck out whatever may be down there. When set to vacuum liquids, it potentially has the power to suck up all types of different things that may be in your pipes.
