Use Windows Explorer or My Computer to copy the file and paste it in another location of hard disk drive, removable storage media like CDS and DVDS, a portable hard disk drive, or any other storage device. You can easily use the backup copy to restore your Outlook data and by doing this, all the data saved in the .pst file is restored to Outlook. To restore the backup file, use these steps: 1. Open Outlook and click on the ‘File’ tab 2. Click ‘Import’ in the ‘Open’ category 3. On clicking the ‘Import’ button, an ‘Import and Export’ wizard will appear. Click ‘Import from another program or file,’ and then press ‘Next’ button 4. Now, click ‘Outlook Data File (.pst),’ and click ‘Next’ 5. Click ‘Browse’ button to locate the backup file or type the path and the name of the .pst file that you want to import and click ‘Next’ 7. Select the folder that you want to import. However, you can import everything in the .pst file, to do this select the top folder as it includes all subfolders. 8. Click on ‘Finish’ to end the window So next time, if your data gets deleted mistakenly or it gets lost, then you need not worry if you have a backup. You can easily restore all your contacts, calendar, email addresses, appointments, tasks, notes, and journal entries by using your backup file.
