Many mothers fear motherhood. For mother's like Maria Kang, it's not the diaper changing and the temper tantrums. The fear is gaining the stretch marks, saggy breasts, extra weight. Kang was worried that motivation to return to the great shape she was in before the babies would dissipate as she tried to juggle the hectic, on-the-go life of motherhood. Miraculously, handling pregnancy for nearly three years, gaining and losing one hundred twenty five pounds throughout that time, Maria maintained a light workout regiment and continued to be healthy after the pregnancies were said and done. Kang has some tips and insights on how to maintain your shape and figure throughout pregnancies: Control Your Cravings Many women blame the baby for their unhealthy food cravings. Kang does not believe that these cravings are uncontrollable, and actually made a concerted effort to eat only 300-500 extra calories per day while pregnant. Deal with Changes Kang reflects on how she was stunned to see her belly appear a little pregnant just a few days after giving birth. Her body became weaker and stretch marks appeared. Plus, new fat pockets on the hips, arms, and back. The body is going to change. Kang limited her exercise initially, slowly increasingly her activity once the doctor gave her the “go ahead”. Accept it and work it out. Confidence Confidence was also a big change. Kang's confidence plummeted. Suddenly, there were features of the body that were not pleasant and there wasn't an immediate action that could reverse it all. This darkened Kang's outlook but did not stifle her will. Tips 1) Set goals for yourself: Start with small goals like zeroing soda from your diet. Measure your success and treat yourself right. 2) Make time for the fitness: Engage your will, even if its tough. Do what ever works. Fitness DVD, Youtube Videos, home fitness machines, etc. 3) Eat Well: You get a lot of happiness from what you eat. A good, healthy meal goes a long way.
