The office space you choose can make or break your business. Choosing the right office space seems to be a daunting task. However, it can be made easy with right planning and research. Location The location you select will have an enormous effect on how well your business excells. How easily is it accessible to employees and clients? In major cities like New York, you would need to determine how far the office space is from the tube, rail or bus stations. Some employees and clients will probably commute in their personal transport. Therefore, you should consider a place with parking facilities and/or easy access. How safe is the area? Safety always comes first. Safety of your clients and your staff is one of the main aspects to look into when making your choice in location. Do some research on the crime rates of a particular area; it would obviously be an unwise decision if you opt to set up your office in Brooklyn, when you can afford Tribeca offices. Which amenities are available? Your staff will need various options for lunch. Also, the office itself will require office supplies on a time-to-time basis; you should be able to get these nearby. The office staff may have to run errands, a location close to a bank, pharmacy or a shopping centre would be ideal for them. The Building Is the building safe? Make your staff and clients feel comfortable by making sure the building itself is secure. Before selecting a place, check around for a history of any break-ins or similar incidents. How well is the building maintained? A well maintained building will help you in the long run. Check how regularly maintenance is carried out to avoid any disappointments later on. The last thing you would want is water dripping from the ceiling into your newly set-up office, or employees getting sick from molded walls. Office Space No matter how appealing the area and the building seems, make sure the space itself meets your requirements. Keep in mind that the space should be able to accommodate your growing business. How much can you decorate it? You will be setting up your corporate office from scratch. You may opt for purchasing a place or for a commercial office space for rent. In the case of latter, be sure to ask how much freedom you have to decorate the space.
