Cisco 1941 replaced the very popular Cisco 1841 after Cisco released the EoL and EoS announcement for Cisco 1800 series. What the main bright features of CISCO 1941 ISR? Let’s share some reviews here.Cisco 1941 is severely overweight in comparison, however, it’s has roughly the same footprint as the Cisco 1841 Router with a width of 13.5 and a depth of 11.5 the main difference is that the 1841 router had a 1RU height whereas the Cisco 1941 is 2RU. The Cisco 1941 ISR is taller and heavier than CISCO 1841, which does not matter. So let’s see if what’s on the inside makes the difference. Internally, the Cisco 1841 has a default of 256MB of DRAM, with a 384MB maximum-the Cisco 1941 boasts 512MB default and a gargantuan 2.0GB maximum. Seems the 1941 router landed a pretty big blow on that one. However, there is more than just DRAM to consider. Externally, both routers also utilize compact flash memory as well. The Cisco 1841 comes default with 64MB with a maximum of 128MB. The CISCO1941 comes standard with 256MB of flash memory and can be upgraded to a whopping 4GB. Things really aren’t looking good for the 1841 at this point. Seems that the 1941 is not only just impressive in size, but also has a substantial advantage in regards to memory as well. Not only does the 1941 support one compact flash card up to 4GB in size, but has a second external slot for an additional compact flash card up to 4GB in size. The main fact is that the CISCO1841 doesn’t support voice. The CISCO1941 supports both analog and digital voice call methods. ... along with its host of other improvements, such as 5 times speed improvement over the Cisco 1841, on board encryption, antivirus defense support, NAC (network admission control), optional features such as voicemail, CME (call manager express) support and a similar price point to the current reigning champion, the CISCO1941 has more than proven itself a deserving victor in this bout.
