Do you know what a learning center is? Take care of these set up at your preschool and the kids will have a comfortable, reliable place where they can play and learn. When a preschool is set up, different areas of a place are dedicated for one aspect of educational activities for children. As a kid spend time at these various learning centres, learning activities for pre-schoolers takes place which help in their overall development. These different learning centres are: dramatic play, computer, science / discovery, fine motor, and reading. How does a child learn when he or she spends time at a learning center? The first thing is creativity. In a child’s learning sensory experiences are very important. Touch and feel are important factors but learning activities for pre-schoolers also comes from move, flow and may be even taste. When a child is involved in an activity he or she learns by completing a cycle. To begin with, they can mix paints to prepare art materials; they can also decide the colours. They learn by deciding the amount of water is required in these paints. By contributing in creating an art material they will feel the satisfaction, along with storage of project and clean-up of materials. All these things which they learn will be with them throughout their life. They learn the independence when they can choose their own place to keep their materials. They learn how to follow the rules when they keep things back from where they picked it up. By cleaning up for themselves, children take pride. They learn how to keep their living area beautiful, clean and wholesome at an early age. Children also learn how to express themselves by learning nursery rhymes and songs for kids. They get a sense of pride and satisfaction when they name is displayed on their project and it is shown in their classroom. When a kid assist another kid with materials or ideas or how to clean a place they learn to share, cooperate, and acquire leadership qualities, which help them in their time to come. Learning activities for pre-schoolers do not have many directions. Small simple activities like working with collage, pasting, cutting, brush painting, finger-painting help them in their learning process. They get ample amount of time to develop eye-hand coordination and dexterity. They should be allowed to think and create things on their own. They should never be stuffed with too much information as it will hamper their thinking and creativity. Let them explore things on their own, they should take initiative and imagine things. At times it may look unusual to you but let them do what they want, unless it cause harm to them. Just give them simple guidelines before they begin their activity. Learning activities for pre-schoolers should be self-initiating. The mind of a small child is completely raw, whatever they learn at this age, goes with them for a long time, or may be throughout their life.
