Small simple activities like working with collage, pasting, cutting, brush painting, finger-painting help them in their learning process. They get ample amount of time to develop eye-hand coordination and dexterity. They should be allowed to think and create things on their own. They should never be stuffed with too much information as it will hamper their thinking and creativity. Let them explore things on their own, they should take initiative and imagine things. At times it may look unusual to you but let them do what they want, unless it cause harm to them. Just give them simple guidelines before they begin their activity. Learning activities for pre-schoolers should be self-initiating. The mind of a small child is completely raw, whatever they learn at this age, goes with them for a long time, or may be throughout their life.
