When you were young, you were provided with everything you could need, in order to make your dreams a reality. You talents were discovered and you were given a loving environment, where they could be nurtured and developed. However, for many children in India this is a luxury they may never get the opportunity to experience. The fact is that there are millions of children who are denied their basic human rights and made to live in unimaginable conditions. Poverty is the primary reason why the rights of so many children violated. When the parents are struggling to make it from one day to the next, it is very difficult for them to provide the basic necessities for their children. Very often, these children are forced to work at a young age, so that a contribution can be made to the income of the family. It goes without saying, that if children are working they are denied their right to education. The Government of India passed the Right to Education Act in 2009, so that all children could receive at least a primary education for free. Even though the act was though out well there were a number of limitations, when it came to implementation. A large number of kids still remain out of school. On the other hand, there are more than a few issues with the schools and the basic infrastructure they offer. How can children concentrate and learn without benches and classrooms? The need to fight for child rights in India is not limited to the right to education. There are a number of cases where children are denied the basic nutrients that are required, in order live a healthy life. This is the reason why, they continue to fall sick on a regularly. Due to the lack of funds, they are not given the treatment required in order to get better. Hence, reoccurrence of the illness becomes common. Exploitation is also something that should be controlled at the earliest. The number of kids who are abused and made to work long hours is unimaginable. These innocent children are work for around twelve hours a day, in order to earn the minimum. It is difficult for an adult to work such long hours, let alone a child. With all this evil lurking in the dark corners of society, it becomes important to take some steps to spread awareness and bring an end to these practices. There are a number of charities that work to give children a voice and to highlight their need for protection. You have the power to make a change in the society we live in. All it takes is a small contribution of either time or money. This will go a long way to give children a voice and to protect them from the abuse of the world.
