Taj Mahal, famous for its beauty, has fascinating history and is famous place of tourists from whole world

Taj Mahal, a dazzling historical monument is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. It is situated on bank of river Yamuna. This captivating monument is made up of white marble and is famous for its beauty all over the world. Taj Mahal was recognized as world heritage site in 1943. It has been center of attraction for millions of tourist from all over world.

History of taj mahal is very interesting. In 1631 AD, Mughal emperor Shah Jahan laid foundation of this elegant tomb. Shah Jahan constructed this tomb in loving memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Tomb was created for fulfilling last wish of Mumtaz Mahal .Her wish was to construct such a magnificent tomb that was never seen by entire world. Its Construction was ended in 1648 AD. Twenty thousand people were employed and for there accommodation Taj Ganj was built. Material was brought from whole of India. White marble, a vital material for construction was brought from Rajasthan.

This tomb is a famous tourist spot. It was estimated by UNESCO that more that 2 million people visited Taj Mahal in 2001. Its entrance fee is minimal for Indian citizen and is very expensive for foreigners. Entrance fee is Rs.970 for foreigners and Rs.20 for Indian citizen. This fee goes to Rs.110 from Rs.20 during sunrise and sunset. Best months to visit this tomb are October, November and February. To keep Taj Mahal agra away from polluting traffic, visitors need to either walk or they can opt for electric bus.

Taj Mahal timings are set by ASI (Archaeological Survey of India). Tourist can visit this wonderful monument everyday between 6.00 am to 7.00 pm expect Friday. On Friday mosque is open for afternoon prayer (namaaz) between 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm. Mosque in also open in night for viewing full moon, but is closed on Friday and during month of Ramzan. For security issues only transparent water bottles, camera, phones and small purses are allowed inside Taj Mahal.

Certain ways by which you can reach this admirable tomb are road, rail and air. There are number of flights that run daily for Agra. There are two offices of Indian airline in Agra. First is at kheria airport and other is at Hotel Clarks Shiraz. Well, if you are thinking for making your trip by train than Indian Railways offer number of train that connect Agra from whole of India. In Agra there are three railway stations namely Agra Cantt Railway station, Raja-ki-Mundi Railway station and Agra fort Railway station. If you choose road, then you can either go by your own vehicle or you can opt for bus. Numbers of buses (AC\ non AC) are available for Agra from all over India.

No matter how many times you have visited Taj Mahal but visiting each time is always a breathtaking experience.
