These days, specific digital printers are available which excel in printing on thick card stocks such as business cards. The cost of digital prints is usually fixed per copy due to similar nature of printing and no required preparation. Batch printing can be used to decrease the cost of offset printing by making a lot of copies of business cards. Some full color cards are also printed in presses that use a 4 color process of printing. These four colors are mixed by the printer in proper ratios to print any color on the card. These colors however do not produce the very fine finish of spot colors and are not useful for drawing very thin lines and letters as dotted patterns may appear. Spot colors are generally the preferred method for printing cards that have graphical detail in them such as extensive logos and artwork. There are some terms that are commonly used in printing color business cards. These are like 4/0 which means four color front and no color on the back of the business card. There are similarly 4/1 and 4/4 standards available which mean 4 front and 1 back color and 4 front and 4 back colors on the business card.
