Whether it's everyday wear or a special occasion, women want to pull off an outfit that flatters all the right areas of their body. Keep in mind what your body type is and which cuts and articles of clothing will enhance your best features. Pear Shaped Most women are bottom-heavy, or pear shaped. For these shapes, find clothing that draws attention away from the hips and waist area. Wide-leg pants and flare pants as well as A-line skirts tend to effectively flatter pear shapes. To balance out your shoulders and upper half, sport a tailored jacket. Wear lighter colors on top and darker shades on the bottom, and pick out outfits with vertical stripes. Keep away from big patterns and full skirts. Hourglass The envied hourglass shape means you have curves with a small waist. Play up your figure by wearing wrap dresses, v-neck blouses, and pencil skirts. As for pants, wear high-waist pants, flared pants, and skinny jeans. Clothes that are boxy, oversized, and curveless won't do you any favors. Avoid tunics and baby-doll dresses and tops. Rectangle Some women have narrow, legs, hips, and busts, creating a straight look. To enhance curves, a rectangle woman should wear a fitted jacket that cinches in the waist as well as a ruffly top to bring out the waist and bust. Empire waist blouses and shirts should not be worn by this body type. Boot-cut pants accentuate long legs and the hips and bottom look more rounded.
