Spring2013 Bridal Week delivered some gorgeous gowns for next season, sowe rounded up seven unforgettable gowns that offer a surprisingtake on traditional bridal looks. For spring 2013 designers tookthe traditional veil to the next level, literally, with ornateheadpieces, and made a big statement. Our favorite is by CarolinaHerrera who created a lacy rosette shaped headpiece in theprettiest shade of seafoam green. The gown itself is classicallyelegant, a cream, strapless column gown with a delicate laceoverlay with a seafoam ribbon waistband that breaks up the allwhite story, and a matching trim on the veil in the same hue. We'vealways been a fan of pink wedding gowns.
Celebrity brides likeReese Witherspoon and Portia Di Rossi made our best dressed list intheir pink gowns so it's no surprise that we adore this MoniqueLillier mermaid style gown in the softest shade of pastel pink,which is right in line with fashion's pastel obsession right now.The form fitting bodice shows off her shape, while the dramaticlace on bottom really amps up the wow factor. A super-long matchingveil perfects this pretty pink look. Re Malka [sp?] delivered a abustier style gown that adds a sexy factor to this traditionalsilhouette. A nice update from sweetheart style necklines that wesee so much of.
White embroidery fade into soft white tulle onbottom, giving this bride an airy feel, perfect for a gardenwedding. Going sans veil makes this a little less formal, and asatin band defines her waist. One of the biggest dress trends thisseason in ready to wear is the peplum so it's no surprise that ittranslated over into wedding gowns. Angel Sanchez showed his spinon the trend, creating a super sophisticated structured peplum gownthat is perfect for a wedding in the city.
Definitely for the womanwho wants a modern silhouette to the bold but feminine twist forher big day. There Vera Wang had one of the most talked-aboutcollections of the season after she delivered a runway in daringshades of red, China's traditional wedding color. If you're goingto go for this brilliant hue, I say, "Go for it!"over the top oneshoulder ball crimson colored gown, complete with a nipped tulleand lace skirt. Believe me, no one will forget you in this dress.Finally, de Laurentiis delivered so many beautiful gowns that wecouldn't pick just one.
First, this light blue and white eyeletgown is very untraditional and reminds us of a luxuriouscountryside wedding, not to mention the baby blue means you won'thave to worry about picking up something blue. The other one thatwe love is this delicate white strapless with a bevy of whiteflowers cascading down the bodice, getting more sparse towards thehem, floating flowers trim the veil giving this look a whimsicaleffect that is so feminine.
