Christmas is known as a magical festival, celebrated with love and joy across the world. This festival is somewhat special for the kids. For them it is about decorating their house and receiving gifts from the Santa Claus. Writing letters to Santa has also been one of the most enjoyed traditions by children on Christmas. They write elaborate letters asking for specific items they wished for a long time. To make their letters more credible they also explain about their behavior throughout the year and why they deserve that particular gift. This tradition is followed even today and kids wait patiently for this festival to come. These traditions are actually very important as they make children believe in the power of Father Christmas and motivate them towards goodness. There are numerous kids who love writing letters to Santa sincerely and believe that their wishes would be answered. These youngsters are as genuine and innocent in their requests as your own and wait patiently for the white bearded man to come to their home laden with gifts. But often their wishes remain unanswered as their parents are unable to support it. A slight help from your side can make this occasion a happy one for such kids. A program was launched by the United States Postal Services to help needy children. This program was named as Adopt a letter program. Under it people can adopt any one of such thousands of letter written to Santa each year by sending back the gifts the kids have requested from the Santa. You can also adopt one such letter this year and be the real Santaclaus the kid. Don’t worry kids generally ask for basic items such as shoes, blankets, games etc. It won’t hurt your pocket much. The postal department sends the gift from your side to that kid. They remove all contact information in this process for privacy issues. By doing this you know at your heart that you have made a kid happy. This is by far the most satisfactory and fulfilling experience you had ever felt. If this postal services “children's letters to Santa” program is not available in your neighborhood postal office then you can help such kids by other mediums as well. You can organize parties at your home and could ask the guests to bring in some gifts, which you can donate at orphanage or church. You can even buy some goodies yourself and donate it. Moreover you can also donate at specific organizations who conduct such programs. So this Christmas create a difference in the lives of these children and promote the true spirit of the festival. Be an elf is a nonprofit organization that promotes UPSC’s children’s letter to Santa program. They work on making the tradition of writing letters to Santa true.
