‘Human resource management’ is a very familiar term for everyone. However, most of them do not know what it defines. Earlier days, human resource management had a narrow scope. It was managing activities of workforce in an organization. But in modern business world, it has a broad definition and a wider area to cover. Now, we cannot consider human resource management as a separate function. It exists in every section and department of a particular organization including finance, marketing, productions and operations. All the departments are liable to gain maximum contribution of employees towards the business achievements. This process is very complex. This should be also done with a proper balance of workers and the management to gain good ROI. HRM is a critical function in any business. It is necessary to implement correct procedures and plans to get the maximum from employees. Here are some responsibilities of effective human resource management. • Motivating employees through incentives and rewards Incentives and rewards encourage workers to work effectively for business achievements. Therefore, it is important to implement the correct scheme for incentives and rewards. When preparing a rewarding plan, it is necessary to cover the entire workforce by considering their levels, designations, performances and responsibilities. When considering marketing executives, sales based commissions motivate them to achieve sales targets even their basic salaries are low. Human resource management is responsible to plan and execute various rewarding schemes and motivate employees to work well and achieve organization goals. • Identifying the correct workforce and recruiting them To achieve business success, it is important to recruit talented employees for job vacancies and keep them for a long time. Only talented people can bring any business to its success. Human resource management is responsible to choose those employees and use their talents to achieve business goals. Look towards recruitment online to get a large pool of candidates. • Performance appraisal Identifying employee weaknesses will help them to give proper trainings and improve the productivity. Identifying their strengths will help to assign suitable duties and responsibilities. Human resource management of the organization is liable for performance appraisals. Performance appraisals are important to achieve business goals by increasing the productivity. • Managing the workforce Any business organization should introduce rules and procedures to manage their employees. Certain rules need to be implemented regarding worker’s behaviors. Leave policies, work rules, and general procedures should be implemented for better control. This is another responsibility of human resource management. No business can survive without satisfied workforce. Therefore, it is necessary to fulfill all the expectations of workers because only a happy worker will contribute to develop a business. Fulfilling worker’s expectations and motivating them to put their maximum efforts for business success is a duty of human resource management.
