Email Marketing is a crucial element of a company's overall marketing strategy. Nowadays, 97% of small businesses are using email marketing. There is cutthroat competition in email marketing hence it is quite difficult that client will open your email. If you want to improve the open rates, then place yourself in the recipient's place. And think what kind of email you will open.

The most important thing is recognize the target market and construct separate campaigns on the basis of age, income, gender, need etc and provide the valuable, free content to the recipients in order to win their trust .Give them actually what they want like few people want monthly newsletter, few like weekly sales ads, few want updates on new product and when send them mail according to their choices then there is the probability that your emails will be viewed more.

Moreover, remove the email address from your list that never opens your emails. As email service provider helps to know the all the statistics of your campaign such as open, read, deleted, bounced. And even you also get to know about the contacts those who rarely open your emails thus you should segregate those recipient into a separate list and design special emails so as to grab their attention.

Additionally while creating your campaigns there are few more things to be kept in mind in order to make your email campaign successful like ignore CAPS and exclamation marks because many people relate this style with unwanted emails. Subject lines structured as questions usually bring forth a better response. If you are sending the newsletter with the same subject line constantly, you will notice a drop off in open rate. Keep the name of newsletter steady, but reflect the altering content of each campaign.

To enhance the open rate of your mails keeps your subject line short, sweet and catchy if possible. An exception would be an email going to a highly targeted and well established audience. Extreme or unnecessary reminders have diminishing returns. Too much promotion of products/ services of your company and reminders can land your emails in the trash or spam folder.

Apart from above mentioned things time is also a major factor in email marketing. Consider about your audience, if you are having a grocery store then your customers will probably shop on Saturday or Sunday. Sending promotional message on Thursday or Friday will lead to more open rate as compared to mail sent on Monday. Usually, B2C businesses should target after 2 ‘o’clock or after working hours when people get time to check the emails and it is recommended that B2B businesses should try early morning because in organization professional usually first check their mail box and then start their day or during afternoon mails are checked.

Classify topics so as to get the best results however, if you are writing an amazing subject line and still getting the less open rates, then it indicates that your content is not interesting. Hence change your content in the message and the subject line so as to generate high open rates.
