Are you questioning if you should buy the new Roku three? Well, that depends on what you need. Roku has been a pioneer for media streaming during the last number of years. And, once again, they have shown why they stay ahead of the pack. Honestly, depending on what is important to you, you may not need this new Roku streaming media device, for those who already have an older version. Being much faster than the earlier models is the main advantage of the Roku 3 over its predecessors. This, by itself, is enough for many individuals to go out and purchase the brand new Roku with no extra convincing necessary. However you'll find additional advantages to this Roku three. It has a plug intended for an headphone jack. Thus the viewer may watch a tv program with the remainder of your house being uninterrupted. This Roku is also sleeker and more compact than its predecessors. The size is 3.5 inches with rounded corners and is barely five ounces. A reset button in addition to Ethernet and HDMI ports are integrated in back. However, a few things have not changed with the brand new version. The Roku three remains to be easy to set up. You just need to plug in a couple of cables and then you are ready to go. It essentially has similar capabilities as the older versions and, yes, still appears somewhat like an hockey puck sitting next to your TV. It still has access to the same channels. However for those that own an earlier model, one of the improvements is that it no longer shows just a horizontal list of your choices for channels. It can take a very long time going through all the choices. This brand new model has a grid that lets you reach your destination far more rapidly. Moreover you'll have two groups of information presented to you at all times. (This brand new format is now being employed with all versions of Roku) You are able to, have a listing of categories on the left side, for instance,( such as sports, news, et cetera.) and on the right have the channels which fit in to the group. The new model has a flow that is far superior to that of the older versions. The selections for channels are still the same for all editions. The majority of those that have Roku (any version) appear to start with Netflix. But you can get other selections also. As a matter of fact, cable or satellite bills are often eradicated due to the choices on Roku. And that may be an actual cash saver ( you choose to pay for too many additional channels). So is there a rationale to keep one of the older editions? With certain people an older model is sufficient. You may find the way to your channel, music or TV show. If getting to your destination more slowly is Okay then this new version is not necessary. But if you're looking for a much quicker, sleeker version, then you definitely may consider this new model. The handling and speed of a sports car is what some of us desire, although an older sedan is Okay for a lot of of us. This new Roku 3 is more akin to the luxurious sports car compared to the older models If it is simplicity that you want then Roku 3 is a good selection at an elevated speed. roku 3 review
