Charity, the English dictionary definition: to give freely to those in need. This does not mean that one has to give away all one’s worldly goods, unless of course, you are thinking of entering a monastery, in which case you have no other option! Donating gifts to those in need can give a real sense of pride and International Charities are some of those who help the neediest on our planet today. Many countries with limited resources are sometimes unable to cope with their own societies. Exploding populations due to lack of education and increased poverty, all contribute to these situations. Lacking infrastructure and support, they turn to outside sources for help. Feeding schemes are the most abundant as this is one of the basic needs of any population in any country. However, other areas need help too. Countries with limited resources of their own need imports not only of a consumable nature, but due to limited education, of knowledge as well. This is where a large number of corporate companies can help. They have the ability to send skilled workers in all fields of knowledge such as, medical staff, engineers and educators to help improve the living and working standards of those in need. These Companies normally have a certain amount allocated within their sales budgets to accommodate such charities. Governments have long since included such allocations using your hard earned taxes for just such a purpose. All countries are involved in this practice which was established by the United Nations many decades ago. Makes you feel better about paying taxes now, doesn’t it! Charitable institutions, whether international or not, must be registered and audited for the purposes of ruling out fraud and corruption. When donating in any manner or form, please be sure to check for a registration number which can be easily verified on any government website. Disaster management is also covered by these charities and they are always the first to step in after tragedy strikes. Feel good about what you donate to reputable charities. No matter how small, your funds, goods or services, will be greatly appreciated to continue the good work of all International charities. Who knows, one day your country could suffer a natural or unnatural disaster and require some of that help too. It would be nice to know that the funds are available to do so.
