A woman is complete when she becomes a mother.

In such cases the couple seeks for a socially responsible and a physically fit woman to be her surrogate. Surrogate motherhood is a whole different experience in itself. Many wonder if the surrogate mother doesn’t get attached to the baby she is nurturing in her womb. Well, this is the beauty that surrogate mothers go through. At this point in time, when we have had the wonderful opportunity to talk and interact with many surrogate mothers, they say, ‘We are very happy to do surrogacy for a couple where the woman cannot carry her own baby. We know she has gone through a lot of pain and trauma and we feel lucky and blessed to be a part in completing their family’. The nine months of surrogate motherhood: • As a third party reproduction agency we take utmost care of our surrogate mothers. The whole journey of 9 months is long and is filled with responsibilities from all three parties – the intended parents, surrogate mother and us. But this journey that the surrogate undergoes is memorable for her and heavenly for the intended parents. • The surrogate mother stays with us in our special care home for all the 9 months. This is to ensure that she is well taken care of. During this period she receives nutritional food to eat and special protein drinks to make her as well as the baby healthy and fit. Her diet is well planned by our dietician and additional nutrients or medicines are administered to those who require them. • She goes through a personal growth period with us in our care home when she learns arts and crafts that interest her. We offer them a wide range of activities that they can choose and participate in. This helps them keep themselves occupied and also improves their skills. • The special care home has a 24 hour home nurse and care taker who attends to all the problems that they face while they are away from their family. They keep us updated and we have regular visits to our care home. • Though their family is away we keep our surrogate mothers happy and see to it that they do not miss their family too much. If need be we send them home for a couple of days depending on their health conditions and progress in pregnancy. • Their children visit them often and even stay with them during the weekends and hence the bond they have with their children is well maintained. • On special festivals like Diwali or Holi, we conduct special programs to entertain them and also give away prizes to them as well as their children. Most intended parents also give away gifts on festivals days as a token of their appreciation to the surrogate mother for doing this incredible deed of completing their family. • Regular health check ups and scans is a part of their routine when they stay with us in our care homes. • Extra care and attention is given to the surrogate mother as the due date approaches and the intended parents are kept informed of the daily progress. The journey of a surrogate mother on completion of her surrogate motherhood is a scene to watch. She is very anxious to know how the couples feel and how happy they are when they hold their baby in their arms. The surrogate mother is thanked profoundly by the intended parents. The relation of the surrogate mother and the intended parents may end with the birth of the baby, but our relation with the surrogate mother continue post the surrogacy motherhood that she went through. We take care of the surrogate mother for months following the delivery and see to it that she is in good health. If there is any sort of uneasiness and mental unhappiness she faces, we make her talk to our counselors, who help her coping with her problems. In whole the long journey feels like a second gone by in the past and the happiness it left behind lingers for months together.
