Distinguished Administrator or Manager Award and Distinguished support staff awards are given to staff in the administrative section who demonstrate - Excel in performing their duties and responsibilities pertaining to that particular position - Interact beyond the workplace - Demonstrate and support a respectful and healthy work atmosphere - Is a role model to their peers, colleagues and subordinates - Is focused on development - Is committed to the values and mission of the university The effective team award is given to groups of staff and lecturers who collaborate with the different departments in the university to work beyond call of duty, that is more than the regular workload. The overall achievement of the team should benefit the university in terms of enhancing their image or building a sense of community. The accomplishment of the team should be consistent with the vision of the university and the work outcome should add to general well being, happiness and satisfaction of the employees. For a team to get awarded it is important that the accomplishment should have come through cooperative and collaborative process. These employee awards and Staff awards aimed at honouring, encouraging and motivating the teachers and staffs are given during prestigious functions held annually at the universities. Some of the awards are given in form of cash but for most part plaques and trophies are common. Selection of nominees is generally done by the department heads and the final winner is selected by a committee mostly consisting veterans of the university.
