So often a holiday in the UK gets overlooked for hotter destinations abroad on cheap budget airlines. In my opinion so many British people don't appreciate the beauty of our land and all it has to offer. From the great British countryside to the famous hustle and bustle of the major cities like london or cardiff, Britain really does have it all. Well not the weather but you get the gist of things. So if you have decided to chose your holiday within the UK, the next thing you need to sort out is what type of accommodation you are going to choose to stay in. There are variety of different types of accommodation but for me there is nothing like staying in a holiday cottage. It is like a home from home experience which gives you the best of both worlds. You will have most of your home comforts but in a different location which is perfect for a good holiday. What exactly are you likely to get from a self catering holiday you may be asking. Each Cottage will vary but in general your cottage should have the following facilities. Living areas with nice comfortable seating with a TV, DVD and CD players. You may have to pay an additional fee but most will have the option of satellite or digital TV. A fully equipped kitchen that is appropriate for a small snack to a proper christmas dinner. You are likely to have pots and pans, cooking utensils, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, oven and hob. In some cottages you may even have washing facilities like a tumble dryer, washing machine and dishwasher. A bathroom with either a bath or shower. Depending on how many of you are going to the cottage you will need to check how many bathrooms there are to avoid queuing in the mornings! Depending on where your cottage is located you will have a nice garden and patio facilities. Most should provide BBQ facilities and areas for your children to play. If you really want to do it in style then you can get cottages that come with hot tubs, private swimming pools and tennis courts. It could also provide storage space if you require it. All this gives you that home from home experience that really does make for a quality holiday that any other type of accommodation like hotels or hostels can’t give you Another great thing about cottages is the location they are situated in, they are generally in very picturesque areas. Areas which are great for walking or cycling adventures that is perfect for an active type of holiday. For me it is the best way of spending your holiday with in the UK and I will continue to have fantastic holidays within the Britain and I hope you will choose a cottage holiday in Britain too!
