5 Tips To Fight Sunburns

Health
You can’t take tan away from summers however hard you may try. Also, it is difficult to avoid sunburns during summers. If sun has been harsh to you and you are suffering from sunburns here are some tips to get relief:

1. Cool yourself: It is best to take the cold water bath or shower. This instantly lowers down the body temperature and gives relief. Avoid the use of bathing gels or soap when taking the bath. If you cannot take the bath at least dip the affected area in the cold water or spray ice cold water. The bottom line is to keep the sunburn area as cooler as possible.

2. Use aloe vera: There must be hundreds of books listing the healing properties of Aloe Vera plant. One of the properties of Aloe Vera is that helps in reducing the inflammation and also soothe the burned skin. If you have an Aloe Vera plant in your garden, just freeze a few leaves and squeeze it on your skin directly. You can use the Aloe Vera juice available in the market in the medical stores or cosmetic stores. Remember the gel you use should be plain Aloe Vera and should not contain petroleum products or lidocaine as they may worsen your situation by clogging pores and preventing healing. . 3. Home remedies: If you are looking out for ways to treat sunburns, there is no better medicine shop that your own kitchen. Make a paste of oatmeal, whole milk, 2 tablespoon of honey and Aloe Vera and apply it on the affected area. You will start feeling immediate relief after applying the paste. Keep instant spritzer always handy, in case your skin is prone to sunburns. Use brewed black tea or saline water in a spray bottle or compressor and use it whenever you feel the need. To make the effective saline water, boil eight cups of drinking water and add a teaspoon of salt and later refrigerate it. This is surely the best homemade spritzer known and surely the safest available.

4. Get to the doctor: If you feel that your sunburn is much more than regular sunburn and you feel dizzy or even faint along with a feeling of nausea and fever with chills, it is time to rush to the doctor. It might be sun poisoning and might be serious.

5. Relax yourself: You would need to take care and soothe your sunburn for over three to five days. Drinking lots of water will help to keep the skin hydrated. Also include fresh fruits in your diet to lessen the harmful effects of sunburn, as your skin stays hydrated. Rely on pain killers like ibuprofen or aspirin in case the pain is unbearable.

Treat sunburns a part of the summers and don’t them take a toll on your life. Precaution is the best way to avoid sunburns. Drink lot of water when out in sun and it is best if you avoid stepping out in the sun during the hottest hours of the day.
