The Fixit Foundation is a unique charity for animals. The mission of the foundation is to move beyond treating the symptoms of our nations homeless pet population. The goal of the Fixit Foundation is to create a solution. With so many companion animals living on the streets or being euthanized in shelters, this cause is a noble one. The Problem There are many animal charities focused on this problem. But unlike those that generate fundraising for animal shelters, the Fixit Foundation is committed to greatly reducing the need for those shelters to begin with. In the United States, over four million cats and dogs are put down every year. And these sad numbers simply do not have to be our reality in the future. The Fix A huge part of what this animal charity focuses on is increasing the accessibility and affordability of spaying and neutering services. There have been many educational campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of having companion animals spayed or neutered. Though successes have been accomplished in this regard, often times, it comes down to finances. Get Your Fix There are many animal lovers who do what they can to feed and care for strays, and there are many people who would adopt a homeless animal if they felt they could afford these necessary services. They are also conducting research and analysis on the effects of increased accessibility to these services in certain areas. Hopefully, in the future, the solution will be realized. Charity for Animals Fix It Foundation mission is to end overpopulation of companion animals by developing a system to support and promote incentive-based spay/neuter programs and produce solutions to bring spay/neuter to everyone.
