Boxing ring canvas manufacturers can take a leaf out of high performance sports gear makers and put the fundamentals in designing scientifically superior boxing ring canvases that would do more than protect the player from receiving bodily injuries during the sports. The science of sports apparel has leaped way ahead in less than a decade’s time with some feats so fantastic that those seem to have come directly out of a science fiction movie! Before we begin taking this any further, let us examine the need to make boxing ring canvas better than what they are at the moment. What is wrong with the products sold under the ‘boxing ring canvases’ today? Nothing if you stand with other spectators in the stand, or if you fall under the amateurs category, but if you are one of those who have live half of their active lives in and around the boxing ring, then you would agree that a lot of things could be changed and made better. The biggest problem I believe that can be found in present day ring floor covers is the lack of anti-disease protection. Now anti-disease is a umbrella term I have made out of thin air to mean everything under the sun that is supposed to protect the player from cuts and bruises and that happen all the time opponents getting too aggressive in the offence or defence to effect a blow way too powerful to send the other crashing to the ground with a gash across the eye socket! We all know that open cuts are quite likely to attract infections easily because the primary defence against infections (the skin) is already dysfunctional! Due to reduced defence, germs get the upper hand and they manage to easily penetrate through. At the moment, I believe there are hardly any boxing ring covers manufacturer who has thought about making their products anti-disease, if I am wrong prove me so, but I think most ring floor covers in boxing rings all over the world are big germ perti dishes of bacteria and fungi swirling in a frenzied motion – or maybe I am paranoid!
