Everyone knows that buying let’s say a good melon is quite difficult. They all seem tasty, but they are different inside. The situation with photographers is the same: they wear similar clothes and have huge cameras. But finding out who of them are really talented, is very hard. Photos are complicated product, and one shouldn’t estimate them relying on their own taste. Sooner or later everyone of us has a wish to photograph the best moments of our lives (especially, if this is wedding). Sure, reading photographers reviews is a good idea when it’s about finding a worthy professional, but that’s not enough. In this article I’m going to tell you about the most widespread signs of a bad wedding photographer. Blurred and bleached wedding gowns. Wedding gown is white, groom’s suit is black. On a high quality photo one must be able to distinguish both embroidery on a wedding dress and details in shadow parts of groom’s suit. The worst defect is absence of details on light parts of the picture – photographers call it “light gaps.” Such light failures can be masked by blur filter, that’s why inexperienced photographers have so many blurred pictures. That’s why if you see a wedding gown without texture on a blurred picture, be sure you are going to be scammed! Art tastelessness. Blur is one of the basic instruments in Photoshop. It allows defocusing pictures, smoothing skin texture on a portrait etc. Blur is a good instrument in hands of experienced photographer with good taste. The worst thing it happens when it gets to a person with no taste. Such photographer can make a perfect picture, but absence of taste makes his technical skills equal to zero. Thus, many photographers trying to save a picture gives it signs of a false artistry by discrediting a good method. If you see there is too much blur in photographer’s portfolio, be aware – you might be dealing with a bad specialist. Gaps in shadows. It’s harder to clear up the situation with details in shadows. Good documental wedding pictures mustn’t have any gaps. Wedding pictures must keep all the details of bride’s and groom’s looks. “Artistic photos” with exceeded contrasts are another thing. Especially, when these are black and white pictures. Today it’s a bit in fashion to make gaps in shadows attracting attention to lighter parts of the photo. By the way, when making RAW pictures (and all mirror cameras can make RAW files) in most cases it’s possible to save details in shadow parts. But many photographers are too lazy to take RAW pictures as they require further computer arrangement. If you notice there are too many shadow gaps on pictures, avoid dealing with author of such works. As you see, one should be very attentive to find a good wedding photographer. Learn more about how good wedding photos must look like, look through photographers reviews and you will find a perfect professional!
