Dear friends, do you know how to use glass and stone mosaic tile for vanity tops in the daily life? As we know, vanity tops should be tiled before installing plumbing fixtures and the vanity sink and should be tiled over a prepared, flat surface. If you want to create a vanity top with an individual style, use glass and stone mosaic tiles. Mosaic can be applied in random patterns, or in a structured design to create a picture on the vanity top. Mosaic tiling is much simpler than regular tiling. Instructions as follows: Firstly, mark the mosaic design onto the vanity top substrate with a marker. If you are applying freeform mosaic, you don't need to mark in any design. Secondly, dip the backs of mosaic tiles in mosaic glue and stick them onto the substrate with a 1/8-inch gap between each tile. Glass and travertine tile can be applied in the same manner. If you have round-topped glass tiles, use them in the border of the vanity top so that they won't make the bulk of the vanity off-plane. Thirdly, continue sticking on the mosaic tiles until all the vanity top is tiled. Leave the glue to dry for the time recommended by the manufacturer. Fourthly, mix mosaic grout as the grout manufacturer instructs. Use a small grout float to apply the grout to the tile joints. It may be easier in some places to use your fingers as well. Fifthly, scrape off excess grout as you work with a grout scraper. Do not apply grout to the gap between the edges of the vanity and the mosaic tiles or the tiles and the plumbing or sink holes. Sixthly, leave the grout for half an hour, then wipe over the surface with a damp cloth to remove grout from the soapstone tile faces. Leave for another half hour and then polish the faces of the tile with a slightly damp cloth. Seventhly, squeeze a line of caulk into the gaps left un-grouted and use a damp finger to smooth over the caulk. Leave the mosaic vanity top to cure for the time recommended by the grout manufacturer. Eighthly, apply a grout and tile sealer to the vanity top as the sealer instructions stipulate and leave to dry as instructed by the sealer manufacturer before installing plumbing fixtures and the sink. Tips & Warnings Natural stone tiles may need sealing prior to use in a mosaic; check with the retailer. Install sections of mosaic tile on mesh backing first, then glue the mesh to the vanity top.
