Information Related To Whip Cream Chargers

Food & Beverages,Business
Whip cream chargers, which are also known as nangs, whipped cream chargers, whippets, nossies and whippets, are steel cylinders or cartridges. They include and use a gas known as nitrous oxide. The main purpose of the device is to allow for the whipping of product in whipped cream dispensers.

Generally these cylinders are 2.5 inches long and have a width of about 0.7 inches. On one side of these units is a narrow tip, while the other end is rounded. The inside walls of the devices are approximately two millimeters thick and able to handle the intense pressure from the gas they contain. Although these devices are not refillable, units may be recycled in the jurisdictions that accommodate the recycling of steel.

The nitrous oxide present inside of cylinders is sometimes used for other, irresponsible, purposes. That is, recreational drug users have been known to inhale this gas for its psychoactive results. Another non-traditional use for this involves small model rocketry. In these situations, users consider the gas an inexpensive power source for small rockets. The original and intended purpose for these is in the culinary world.

This particular gas is applied because it can migrate into the product with ease. It also prevents the product from oxidizing before it has left the can. In order for this product to be whipped up while in the dispenser, it must include a 28 percent fat content.

Containers come packaged with a cap, and based on the size, may feature more than one charger. These devices are designed to pressurize the entire container with the oxide, which allows the gas, which is fat soluble, to dissolve inside the product. The process is similar to that of carbon dioxide dissolving in water to create soda water. The instruction to shake the container is meant to dissolve gas and prep the units for use.

As soon as the valve of a dispenser has opened, product is forced out. The product comes out the nozzle at high pressure, which is caused by the chargers. Once the pressure is fully released, the gas will form into bubbles and come out of the solution. These bubbles are what transform product into a whipped form.

Production of such units was originally done in Europe. In modern times, there are still three factories in the area involved with the manufacture of these devices. The standard size is eight grams of nitrous oxide per unit. These chargers are meant for occasional or minimal use at restaurants, homes and coffee shops. There are larger devices for commercial use. Regulated tank systems, which have large containers and dispense more, are designed to produce high volumes. They are for those who require at least 10 liters of the product per hour.

Whip cream chargers is the name given to the cylinders or cartridges made from steel and used in cream dispensers. These devices use nitrous oxide to whip product. Although they are meant to be used in the field of culinary, they sometimes make for an inexpensive power source of small rockets or inhalant for drug users.
