Ever wondered what would it be like to watch the sadistic killerclown on the screen, when merely reading about it used to sendchills down your spine? Yes that"s right. StephenKing"s famous scary novel, "IT" is being adaptedby the big screen and will be released as a two part film by WarnerBros Pictures. If you have missed the book as a child, here"s how it goes:The 1986 novel, which is considered to be one of King"sfinest works, is a story about seven children who live in the townof Derry in Maine. The children are lured to the sewers by a shapeshifting creature they call "it". "It"appears in the form of ‘Pennywise - the dancing clown"and preys on the children. The bunch of kids grow up and become adults with hardly anyrecollection of their encounter with this creature. But as"it" resurfaces after thirty years, the "LosersClub" unites and soon enough they find themselves in a bloodybattle. Together they fight to kill the menace once and for all.The idea that the film will be released in two parts therefore,makes sense. It"s not the first time that "it" has interestthe Hollywood directors. In 1990, a mini television series was madebased on the novel that aired on ABC. Back then, Tim Curry Tim Curry played Pennywise and the effect he left was downright scary. However, after so many years, those who have already seen the flickand read the novel might be looking for a new twist that wouldleave the same effect it did when they first got their hands on thenovel. So, hopefully Palmer will modify the story a little to caterto modern audiences, since we doubt if anyone would like to see abunch of thirty some adults confronting their childhood fears. The latest adaptation will be directed by Cary Fukunaga who will beco-writing the script with Chase Palmer. Fukunaga has also directedthe famous adaptation of "Jane Eyre" and "SinNombre". The film will be co produced by Seth Grahame-Smith and DavidKatzenberg, both of whom have done a fabulous job in their earlierprojects. So far no release or filming date has been set and WarnerBros is still looking for the right group of actors to fit thisone.
