Internet reviews – how to find what you need? Before going on vacation every traveler tries to find as much information about his destination point as possible. There diverse sources: books, travel magazines, travel guides. But no one will argue the best source of information is Internet. People travel and write reviews after coming back. But there is no more subjective thing than information in the web. But still you can deal with it – if you know how. First steps. Many people start looking for information in search engines. But you should remember that anyone can buy the most popular keywords and thus appear in top ranking list of a search engine. That’s why such queries as “vacation on Maldives” or “tours to France” won’t show worthy offers. Feel free to get into depths of search results – there is a chance of finding needed information on the 20th page. Although, if you haven’t decided yet where to go, spend some time in free search typing the words you consider to be key for you (“best diving”, “inexpensive shopping”). Where are all these reviews from? Before you search reviews and, moreover, read them, let’s find out where they are from. People who had excellent vacation, will hardly hurry to the keyboard to share their impressions. Everything was great – what else would you say? Although, these reviews would be valuable information. The exclusion is only members of Internet forums who take part in discussions and share experiences. There is no need to look for motivation to write negative reviews. Vacation is spoiled, one needs to express their anger. If you are attentive, you will extract useful information out of negative reviews. The third group of reviews is written by people working in travel agencies. Distinguishing such feedbacks is very easy. “Right” websites. Travel reviews are posted on different websites; more often on tourist portal catalogues that are not connected to certain travel agencies or official websites of travel companies. It’s obvious that there is no use for tour agencies to keep negative reviews; moreover they use to write positive ones (allegedly, written by tourists). Nothing personal – simple marketing. Unlike “firm” websites, tourism catalogues accumulate all reviews – about different travel companies, hotels, airlines etc. Read and understand. The worst thing that can happen to a tourist (even if travel agency works perfectly and no force majeures occur) is mistake in choosing a hotel. That’s why try to search reviews from people whose life views are similar to yours. Sometimes author’s age, tastes and temperament are easy to understand when reading the text. Don’t ignore even the tiniest remarks on forums. The more details review contains, the better. As your whole vacation will contain of continuous details: quality of morning coffee, personnel’s smiles, size of beach towels… And as soon as you come to a resort, you will forget you have chosen it relying on the amount of swimming pools, SPA salon and Chinese restaurant. These things won’t be important. Remember, we choose vacation relying on global features and estimate it relying on details.
