Internet is nothing new today. It’s hard to imagine one’s house without Internet connection. There are several types of Internet connection: dial-up (analogue), DSL, broadband and optical, satellite, tier carrier, and Internet2 (this one is considered to be the fastest Internet connection in the world). As you see, deciding what type of connection to choose is a problem for many users. According to the statistics, cable connection is the most popular. In this article I’m going to tell you more about cable Internet. Cable Internet connection is one of the most widespread and fastest. It also has a list of certain advantages: - it doesn’t’ require a phone line, so you can use Internet and telephone independently from each other. Such connection doesn’t need dialing, so your Internet browsing will not be interrupted by phone calls. - cable connection is faster than dial-up or even wireless ones, and its speed can be up to 10 Mbps. High speed allows uploading and downloading multimedia files quickly, so you won’t have to waste time waiting. - cable Internet allows data-heavy activities, so if you like online gaming, this kind of connection is what you need. - high speed of this connection will save you time. Especially, when it’s about your work. As you see, cable Internet connection is a good choice to make. But, just like everything in this world, it has its disadvantages. According to numerous cable reviews the list of cable Internet connection disadvantages includes: - peak hours. Although, cable Internet provides high-speed connection, in busy hours it’s quite difficult to reach the highest speed. - initial connection may cost a lot as you will have to buy a coaxial cable. - if you rent an apartment, cable connection wouldn’t be a good idea (especially, if you have no idea about how long you will live there). If you rent an apartment, ADSL broadband will probably be better solution. - it’s possible to install cable Internet connection not in all areas. - if you don’t use Internet regularly, installing cable connection is a waste of money. If you don’t mind waiting for a while and your only need is checking emails and light browsing, you should choose dial-up connection. Prices for cable connection plans vary from $19.95 to $59.95 (depending on a provider, speed and quality of services). Prices for cable modems are also different (it depends on what device is suitable for your computer). As you see, the coin has two sides and you are the one to choose. Sure, before you install an Internet connection, you should make a small research, look through cable reviews, and talk to your neighbors. Find out if there is a cable connection in your location, talk to your neighbors – maybe, you will join the connection they have. Cable Internet connection is a good choice for active web users. If you are not fond of web life, this type of connection shouldn’t be your choice.
