FREEPORT REAL ESTATE is very popular as the islands are fantastic and there is an especially striking island called Crooked Island, it is a little jewel in the trail of the islands which make up the Bahamas islands. This is a place for those visitors who want to be off the trail in order that they can relax and unwind on the beach or to sail or fish, the island of Acklins is close by and along with two other islands they form an atoll which is sited in shallow waters. American Loyalists started to agree on Crooked Island in 1783, they were previously plantation owners and they also brought their slaves with them, the island was nearly untouched and unexplored before this time. The plantation owners came to the island to form Cotton plantations, and there had been forty plantations by the 19th century though the industry was fugitive. Crooked Island is quiet and remote with pretty views it is preferred for fishing including bone fishing, inshore fishing and deep sea fishing there's also a huge quantity of species of birds that reside on the cliff tops. There is a place called Pitts Town and here is supposed to be the ruins of the first post office. The capital city of the island is Colonel Hill and here is where the ruling body offices are found there's also an airport there and it has some of the finest views out from the island you can find anywhere. Acklins Island is an island which is located at the eastern side of Crooked Island, it happens to be one of the least known islands in the Bahamas chain and is the island that makes up the southern and southeastern part of the islands chain the island is in the shallow lagoon called the Bight of Acklins which is also where Crooked Island and Long Cay are situated. American Loyalists also settled on this island and started Cotton Plantations until the abolishment of the Slave Trade by the British ; the successive industry was diving for natural sponge which also finished with the discovery of the artificial sponge. There are one or two nicely named hamlets on the island - Rocky Point, Binnacle Hill and Snug Corner being only a few. The island is worth a visit so the pretty views can be enjoyed. Long Cay is another part of the Atoll which is formed of the four islands it was previously known as Fortune Island and is to the west of Crooked Island the island is virtually unpopulated and in 1980 the population was registered at thirty three. The main city on the island is Albert Town which is about empty now though once was a busy little town when the industries of the cotton and natural sponge were blooming the island also once was employed as a port for the German, American and Dutch boats. If you are looking for FREEPORT REAL ESTATE, it is very easy to pop over to one of those alluring islands to explore the almost untouched landscape and bask in the peace of the islands.
