International English Language Testing System or IELTS is a standard test of English proficiency which is essential to clear in order to immigrate to Australia. This test is important to clear because English is the majorly spoken language of the country, which also ensures employability of the candidate. There are two kinds of IELTS which are given for moving to Australia. In case one is wondering which IELTS is required for Australian immigration, people take its General Training Version under General Skill Migration (GSM). For Australian immigration, a General Training Version IELTS result is valid for up to 2 years. In some occupations, there is a fixed prescribed IELTS score mandatory for immigration. For example, Teachers need to score a minimum of 7 points in each of the modules; Engineers need to score a minimum of 6 points in each of the modules and so on. IELTS is an important aspect of Australian immigration process and is required to be given by the applicant, the spouse as well as the co-dependants over 18 years of age. Even if the applicant and the family is fairly proficient in English, it still is advised for the candidates to take a training prep before giving the IELTS. IELTS is a world recognized language test and is applicable in almost all the major countries, like Australia. Therefore, it is very beneficial to be specifically prepared for IELTS, no matter how good a command one has on English otherwise. IELTS works on a points-based structure with 1 being the minimum and 9 being the maximum. The test consists of 4 modules, which are: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Out of these four, the Reading and Writing modules differ depending on the Academic or General Training version. Total test duration is about 2 hours 45 minutes. Each occupation of choice has a different IELTS score requirement and these requirements are updated with a special official notice each year. Therefore, it is important for the candidate to stay updated with this information. In case one does not clear the IELTS with satisfactory points, it is required for them to pay a second instalment before they are granted their Visa. If the applicant has been nominated under the skilled trade occupation, he/she must have ‘Competent’ or ‘Vocational’ level of English. In order to prepare for IELTS, one can look for tutorials and coaching specifically dedicated to IELTS preparations. The candidate can prepare well with the help of professionals trainers and their English reading, writing, speaking and listening modules. For additional help, there are even mock tests conducted which replicate the pattern of IELTS testing so that the applicant is completely familiarised with the test system. To look for a good IELTS tutorial centre one can take personal feedback and suggestions from their friends and family or can look up the web for a list of tutorials in the city. One must make sure that the trainer/instructor is a worthy and qualified fellow with full knowledge of the IELTS.
